Where: The historic, picturesque town of New Bern, North Carolina. We’ll meet in Union Point Park under the gazebo.
Wait, what’s an InstaMeet? Since the earliest days of Instagram, people have been meeting up to connect, take photos together and inspire one another. These real-world meetups, which come in all sizes, are known as InstaMeets. In the past year, there have been more than 1,000 in over 70 countries. During a WorldWideInstaMeet, hundreds of gatherings happen around the globe on a single weekend. This is the 11th WWIM. Come be a part of a WorldWide movement!
Who’s invited: Anyone! You can shoot with anything from a camera phone to a DSLR, and picture snappers of all skill levels are welcome. Instagram puts #communityfirst.
The plan: We will meet under the gazebo in Union Park, a lovely place to take pictures by the water. We will then walk a planned route through New Bern together, where we will have the opportunity to take pictures of such things as quaint historic homes, the birthplace of Pepsi Cola, and street art. We’ll end at the waterfront where we can photograph the sunset if the time is right. The meet is FREE.
Exciting! Craven Arts Council will be choosing the best photos of New Bern for a Gallery Exhibition in April!
