Christ Episcopal Church will have its annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 8th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. It will be in the Ministry Center at 311 Middle Street across from the church. Tables full of homemade cookies, specialty foods and crafts are available for purchase. Everyone wishing to purchase cookies will be given an empty bakery box and plastic glove. After filling the box with cookies of their choice, the boxes of cookies will be weighed and are priced by the pound. Crafts and specialty foods are priced individually. Everyone is also invited to enjoy breakfast or lunch at the Cookie Walk Café. The menu includes breakfast items, homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts. The Middle Street Moods will be playing their festive music during the event.
Because parishioners make and donate their cookies, crafts and food, all proceeds from this event support Outreach Ministries. Funds from this year’s Cookie Walk will benefit sixteen local and international organizations such as the MERCI Clinic, Craven Community College, Interfaith Refugee Ministry, RCS’s Soup Kitchen, Camp Hope, F.U.E.L., Faith Connection, Agape Flights-Missionary Air Service and Holy Trinity School-Haiti.
Thank you to everyone in the community who has supported Cookie Walk the past thirteen years. It is because of strong community support that the Cookie Walk has been a successful Outreach Ministry fundraiser. Please join us on December 8th and help make this year’s Cookie Walk just as successful. For more information please visit our website at www.christchurchnewbern.com.
