The Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National MS Society will hold its 27th annual Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride on September 12 and 13. The Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride is a two-day cycling event that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis in the Carolinas and throughout the United States. Money raised through this event funds MS research, programs, services, and advocacy. This year, over 2000 cyclists and volunteers will participate in the event raising $1.8 million to create a world free of MS.
The unique and inviting waterfront location of Union Point Park provides the perfect start and finish line for Bike MS. The coastal location, flat landscape, and miles of rural roads allow every level of cyclist to participate and enjoy their choice of routes each day. No matter how far you ride, enjoy great routes, stocked rest stops along the route every 10-15 miles, SAG (support and gear) vehicles, delicious meals, a festive Team Village and finish line experience, and so much more! Sponsors such as Biogen, ADAMA, Carolina East Health System, Onslow Memorial Hospital, and Precision Race make everything we do possible!
Linking Lives Program
Cyclists who participate in the New Bern ride are matched with someone living with MS. These partners encourage each other and give each other strength throughout their respective journeys. Partners meet up at the finish line where powerful relationships are created. If you are interested in this program, please sign up by emailing mailto:Linking.Lives@nmss.org.
‘I Ride with MS’ Program
Cyclists who have MS can register to wear a free ‘I Ride with MS’ jersey. Genzyme and MS One to One, and Primal Wear are proud supporters of this program, where over 100 people with MS participate in this program as part of the New Bern ride.
