Lambe brings Puppet Show ‘Our Country, Our State’ to Tryon Palace

Storyteller performs stories, folktales at North Carolina History Center

Pat Lambe, the professional storyteller known as Patti Cake, will host a storytelling puppet show in celebration of Black History Month, Saturday, February 28, at the North Carolina History Center.

Appropriate for all ages, Patti Cake’s “Our Country, Our State” will tell stories of George Washington Carver, the popular West African folktale Anansi the Spider and many more.

A resident of Haw River, N.C., Pat Lambe uses puppets and other props to provide educational entertainment for children of all ages. Lambe is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Black Storytellers, Inc.

The program will run from noon to 2 p.m., February 28, inside Cullman Performance Hall, located at the North Carolina History Center. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for youth.
