Community Youth invited to assist in construction of local sculpture August 4, 6, 8, 11, 13 Craven Arts Council is proud to announce the creation of a community sculpture entitled “Unity.” This twelve-foot-tall piece will be covered by area children with paper-mache to create a pair of clasping hands, symbolizing the strength and promise of our city when our citizens work together. The Greater Good Gallery will be hosting a final clearance sale during ARTWalk from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 228 Craven Street in downtown New Bern, NC. The event will feature oil paintings by Carol Jones and Lisa Bisbee Lentz. Prices will be significantly reduced to make way for a new creative venture in a new location. New Bern, NC – The Small Business Center (SBC) at Craven Community College (Craven CC) was recently awarded funds to increase its counseling capacity through December 2020. ArtWalks to resume in June Craven Arts Council and Gallery is proud to announce the resumption of the monthly Downtown New Bern Artwalks starting in June, contingent on the Governor’s orders. Due to the effects of COVID-19 and the stay at home order issued by Governor Roy Cooper, the April and May ArtWalks were canceled this year. We plan to resume ArtWalks with the June 12th date if the State of North Carolina has entered Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Response Plan by that time.
