Tryon Palace Celebrates National Pollinator Week, June 18 – 23

National Pollinator WeekNew Bern, NC – Join Tryon Palace in celebrating National Pollinator Week, June 18 – 23. Throughout the week, learn about how to help pollinators with posters and take-home items, and meet the bees in our observation hive at the North Carolina History Center. Free tours, lectures, and movies help Tryon Palace celebrate the importance of pollinators.

Events Include:

Pollinator Garden Tours: Tour the Palace gardens and find out our favorite pollinator plants!

Tours all week, Tuesday, June 18 through Friday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. each day. All tours begin at the Waystation. “Pollinator Garden Tours” are free with purchase of One-Day, Galleries, or Gardens Pass. Passes are free for Tryon Palace Foundation members.

Free Pollinator Lecture – “Intro to Apiculture: So you want to be a beekeeper…”: Saturday, June 22, 2019 – 10:00 a.m. in Cullman Performance Hall in the North Carolina History Center. Join Hadley Cheris, Tryon Palace Apiary Beekeeper, and DJ Moran, Educator Liaison Craven-Pamlico Beekeepers Assoc & NC State Beekeepers Assoc.  Master Beekeeper Prog. Committee Member, as they discuss the importance of honey bees and what becoming a beekeeper entails.

Free Movie – “Disneynature – Wings of Life”: Saturday, June 22, 2019- 2:00 p.m. in Cullman Performance Hall in the North Carolina History Center. Movie screening is free and appropriate for visitors of all ages. Seating is first come, first seated.
