Eight days later, Thea and her husband Bill opened their house to host this unique baby shower. The word spread within our community and before we knew it, over 50 people donated diapers, baby bottles, clothing, wipes, all kinds of items and checks to help the EPIC Center care for those in need!
Above is a video of Sandy Quinonez, Executive Director of the Eastern Pregnancy Information Center (EPIC) with Thea as they told us more about this unique and vital non-profit organization that serves thousands of people.
The EPIC Center truly cares about women and children in crisis pregnancies. They’ve served our community for over 20 years. Although some people may not be aware of their mission, we hope you will tell your family and friends about it as they truly can make a difference between life and death.
Putting myself in other people shoes, I try to image how I would cope with the news of becoming pregnant. Further, I think of what I would do if it wasn’t planned. I’m happy to know that women and young girls have a place to turn during a crisis in our community. The EPIC Center’s team of staff and volunteers is that special place.
Each year they provide services to over 1,000 women and young girls in six counties.
“The generous financial support of our friends & partners allows The EPIC Center to provide the following services — all FREE of charge: Pregnancy Tests; Ultrasounds; Options counseling; Continuing emotional support; Referrals to community agencies; Baby clothing and nursery items; Adoption information and referrals; Parenting and prenatal education; Housing referrals; and After abortion support.” – Taken from their website
They also offer a non-judgmental six week Bible study focusing on forgiveness. They strive to teach young girls and women on living healthier lifestyles and making good life choices.
The EPIC Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations come from grants, donors and the baby bottle campaign. They are a faith based organization so they don’t receive government funding. They need your help so they can help women and young girls facing crisis.
The Baby Shower for Jesus generated these donations:
14 baby outfits, 35 packs of diapers, 9 pacifiers, 18 baby bottles, 2 rubber ducks, 3 hooded towels, 2 crib sheets, 16 baby blankets, 24 onesies, 6 pairs of socks, 2 teething rings, 5 bibs, 26 baby wipes, 12 bottles of baby shampoo, 8 bottles of baby lotion, 2 baby powders, 1 baby oil, and 3 Walmart gift cards and $500.
Please consider donating diapers, baby bottles, wipes, clothing, or any other essentials to support babies in need!
