Coastal Women’s Forum Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Courage, Drive, and Commitment unite Charter Members in 1988!

Tanya Roberts, the incoming President of the Coastal Women’s Forum stepped up as Emcee for the 25th year Anniversary Celebration as Kathy Sirpilla, our current President, could not make the event for family reasons. We surely missed Kathy’s positive and inspirational thoughts!

Special thanks to Tanya for stepping up to the plate! She did a wonderful job.

After thanking past Presidents, Charter Members, and past Board Members, she asked Thea Kincaid, Chair of the CWF 25th Anniversary Committee to introduce the special video presentation created by Kim Briele and her team at LCA Advertising and Productions.

Before the video presentation, Thea shared a special moment that she recalled 20 years ago. CWF Member, Pat McCalahan, told her that “We are your family, we are your sisters, and support you”. She told her to do something for her child by having her parents and grandparents tape record them reading to her child. Thea still has the cassettes of her family reading to her son when he was a baby.

Thea was proud to introduce the program for the evening. It was an incredible video presentation produced by Kim Briele and her team at LCA Advertising and Productions.

Kim is not only a wonderful woman, but I believe she’s one of the most talented ladies in our town when it comes to video production and graphic design. I’ve called her for what I consider “tough situations” and she’s always been there for me!

The 25th Anniversary was more than an “Official Celebration”. It really hit home for me. When I started my business, I was told by someone that I should join the CWF. So I did.

When I joined the Coastal Women’s Forum, I didn’t have any expectations, but I truly believe the CWF has had a major impact on the success of New Bern Now. The CWF is a wonderful group of ladies with a goal to encourage, educate, and network with other women!

Join us for monthly dinners and lunches with guest speakers and get to know like minded women. This is not a “stuffy” group of women!

I would like to personally thank the Charter Members of the Coastal Women’s Forum who dared to create a professional women’s group back in 1988. Without their courage, drive, and commitment, the CWF wouldn’t exist!

What a terrific night at the beautiful Whitford Plantation!
