Learn the art and basic techniques of taking pictures with a local professional photographer. This two day workshop will take place indoors for the classroom portion and outdoors in several forest and landscape types along the Swift Creek and Neuse River during the practice session. This is a beautiful setting to become familiarized with capturing the beauty of nature through your camera lens. Learn proper camera settings, shooting angle, lighting, and macro basics while exploring a beautiful natural setting. Bring your own lunch and drinks. Coolers will be available. Dress appropriate for the elements. Most importantly, bring your own camera including the manual that it came with.
Tom composed photography for Camp Seagull and Camp Seafarer marketing brochures from 1996-2000. He served several years as a professional sports news and film photographer for a major North Carolina network. This also included professional magazine photography projects. Some additional freelance projects that Tom has worked on are cookbook illustrations and newspaper ads for Belk. He taught beginner photography classes at Craven Community College from 1997-2000. Tom also taught industrial photography for a computer and textile business.
