>Your Input is Vital to New Bern Now’s “New Look”!

>

With some help from my friend, LisaBisbee, we’re getting ready to transform New Bern’s “One Stop, Information Shop” into a state of the art Community Blog.
Your comments and/or suggestions are very important to the success of New Bern Now’s Blog and we don’t want to make any major changes without consulting with you first. We plan on implementing the new blog by April 1st.
Since its inception almost 3 years ago, people like you have contributed community information and have kept me on course. You are the reason I didn’t give up on this project a long time ago.
The new and improved blog will:
– Give you the opportunity to publish your own articles without having to wait for me to upload them. They will be sent to me via email to make sure the content is not spam and they will be published as soon as I press “publish” in my email or on my phone. If I’m “off the grid”, I will make every effort to have someone as my backup to publish them while I’m away.
– Create a more user friendly atmosphere for you to find information at your fingertips. Currently there are about 1,300 articles and without actually doing a search in the blog, you may be missing out on some really neat stuff in our community!
These are only a couple of things we plan to implement that will make a huge difference in the way you find out what terrific things New Bern, NC, has to offer.
I’ve wanted to take this leap for awhile now, but have been going with the status quo as the Blog has been growing every month since day one. I consider this “my baby” and a passion of the heart that began as a hobby to help our community.
Why change? Well, the hobby has turned into a full time job. This doesn’t include projects such as Thea Kincaid and I doing Video Spotlights on local businesses/non-profits, Laura Johnson and I teaming up with a new joint venture to promote our community with a local media company (additional information coming very soon) and many other fun-filled activities.
The transformation will empower you to submit your information and free up some of my time to work on other community projects and provide many more perks!
If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Lisa Bisbee, she is a graphic designer, web developer, and multi-media marketer and in my eyes, she’s a woman of many trades! One more amazing thing about Lisa, she’s a talented artist! You can see her painting “en plein air” in front of her Dad, Jim Bisbee and co-owners building, New Bern Artworks & Company at 323 Pollock St. on Saturday mornings between 10am and noon.
Please help Lisa and I by giving us suggestions on what you would like to see on the blog. You can comment below, send me an email, comment on New Bern Now’s Facebook Page, or give me a call at 252-638-6858.
Thank you in advance for any guidance! Please know; we welcome constructive criticism!
