Antuan Hawkins

Smoke’s Supper Club and Eastern Carolina Jazz will continue their popular local jazz series this month featuring singer Antuan Hawkins and The Jazz Coalition trio. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, February 27th at The Flame Banquet and Event Centre.

The Jazz Coalition Trio

Antuan Hawkins – Vocals – Is from Kinston, NC. He has appeared in several off – Broadway productions in New York and has shared the stage with many notable musicians including jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis. New Bern audiences fell in love with Antuan in Andrea and Phil Owens’ original musical F.I.S.H. and most recently as a featured performer in New Bern Civic Theatre’s production of Ain’t Misbehavin’.

John Pavolonis – Keyboards – Has performed on the road throughout the United States. He recently settled in Beaufort North Carolina where he has played regularly with many talented local Artists.

Allen Jones – Guitar – Has participated in jazz, blues and swing bands throughout the country. Locally, he has played in groups ranging from jazz duets to dance bands in clubs along the Crystal Coast. Allen is a member of The Coastal Jazz Society.

Rich Farrell – Drums & Percussion – Began his career in the clubs of New York. In the 1970s he made his home in San Francisco where he performed and recorded with many notable artists including Big Momma Thornton, John Lee Hooker and Elvin Bishop. He now makes his home in Morehead City where he is on the board of directors for The Coastal Jazz Society.

Sunday, February 27th – Doors open at 5pm – Music starting at 6pm at The Flame Banquet and Event Centre, 2301 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC.

General admission $15.00. Tickets are available at Bank of The Arts in Downtown New Bern and at New Bern Farmer’s Market – or you may call 252.649.0109 for advance reservations. Tickets will be available at the door but advance reservations are recommended.
