When was the last time that you visited the Flame Catering and Banquet Centre? My last time was attending a Christmas Party in 2008. That was back when they were a full service restaurant. A lot has changed since then!
Now, they are a large catering and banquet facility planning events and providing special menus for small groups to large family reunions, weddings, military events, receptions, church events, business conferences or any other reason people get together to celebrate!
The Flame will cater breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner and are well-known for catering events at a variety of locations such as the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, Carolina Colours Pavilion, and the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.
For menu details, please visit their website.
The Flame’s Banquet Centre can occupy up to 300 guests. If you have a small group of 50 people, they will transform the large room into a more intimate and cozy dining experience designed specifically for your event! You can visit their website to see a wonderful video created to showcase this elegant 9,600 square foot Banquet Centre!
During my visit with Jennifer Robinson and Myra Garner, Event Coordinators, I met the renowned Owner and Chef James “Smoke” Boyd for the first time. I’ve read and heard numerous stories about Chef Smoke’s generous dedication and contributions to the greater New Bern community. When I asked if he wanted me to take a photo of him, it was obvious that he doesn’t want to be in the “limelight”! His passions are cooking and bringing attention to New Bern.
In just one instance of giving back to the community, Chef Smoke has teamed up with the Eastern Carolina Jazz Cooperative and Mr. John Van Dyke to bring a new twist to New Bern’s entertainment scene by presenting live local Jazz events about once a month which are open to the public. You can find out more about the dates and scheduled entertainment by keeping an eye on The Flame’s “Behind the Scenes” blog on their website or by adding your name to their mailing list!
Every Sunday from 11:30am – 3pm this upscale dining facility provides a special brunch. Highlights to this unique brunch are the award winning shrimp bisque soup, extensive salad bar, prime rib, fresh seafood, and a variety of breakfast/lunch items!
The Flame will also create ice sculptures for special events. The below ice sculpture was on display at last week’s New Bern Are Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
Contact the Flame’s Event Coordinators, Jennifer Robinson and/or Myra Garner to see what they can do for you! They work around your budget to provide you with the best possible menu to suit your needs. They are located at 2301 Neuse Boulevard in New Bern and are open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and by appointment on Saturdays or you may call them at 252-633-1193!
Thank you, ladies, for the tour of The Flame’s remarkable facility!
