My friend and I were lucky for showing up at 11am for lunch today at Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant. Otherwise, we would have joined the ranks of many eager and patient people waiting for a table. If I had to wait, it would definitely be worth it!
I wish I had been able to spend more time with Mr. Brad Lowe, General Manager of Persimmons, to find out his secret in booking the restaurant to the max during their first week of opening (Tuesday)! I’m guessing from the smiling, friendly, and attentive staff, that Brad’s leadership style combined with Chef Gerry Fong’s culinary expertise has a lot to do with their overnight success!
Jazz music played softly in the background contributing to the casual and inviting atmosphere. Although Persimmons staff and ambience makes you feel at home, you will enjoy a posh and “fine dining” experience!
Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant offers an outdoor dining experience on the upper and lower decks overlooking the Neuse River. The interior accommodations offer beautiful views with the comfort of air conditioning! Did I mention; they have a full service bar? They even have a boat dock and a place to gas up for boaters.
I enjoyed an authentic “Caesar Salad” with anchovies. My friend had a scrumptious “Bear Burger” with fried green tomatoes and homemade French fries.
TIP: Don’t forget to make Reservations!
They are open for Lunch: Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 2pm; Dinner Wednesday – Sunday from 5pm – 9:30pm.
If you enjoy fine dining looking out on the river, Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant may be your next “favorite place” in New Bern, 252-514-0033.
Terrific job, Brad, Chef Gerry, and the Persimmons team!
