New Bern Business Referral Network

A special thanks to Thea Kincaid for inviting me to the New Bern Business Referral Network meeting. I’ve heard of this exclusive group of business owners, but didn’t realize how many specialized services they offer.

The concept of this networking group is to include one type of business (i.e. realtor, advertising agent, fitness center, travel agent, etc.) in their network. When the situation arises, a member will refer a client to another member of this referral network who can meet that client’s needs.

It’s a new theory in the networking community and all of the members that I met today seemed to be very satisfied with the group.

I had the opportunity to meet the following business owners and learn about their products and services.

Dr. Lois Flemming is the network group’s President and also owns the Flemming Chiropractic Health Center. Besides the traditional chiropractic treatments, she provides acupuncture along with a new therapy called “cold laser therapy” which treats people suffering from chronic or acute sinusitis.

Steve Burgess (and wife Doris) has owned the Pic Frame and Gallery for 17 years and specializes in unique picture frames and shadow boxes.

Victor Ball owns Shuttle Me Transportation Service, LLC. They transport customers to the doctor, airport, etc. His business provides all transportation needs. For more information, call 252-637-7433.

Pam Baumgardner with The Real Estate Center is confident that New Bern Real Estate is picking up!

Dona Baker, President of Masterful Dog Training, is a certified dog trainer and makes home visits, too!

Holly Willis with Confidential Records Management explained the company’s key features, including shredding (residential and commercial), document imaging, and storing records and files.

Miriam Willis, Mortgage Loan Officer for First South Bank, provides residential real estate financing for the Greater New Bern area.

Thea Kincaid, owner of Thea’s Ideas, proudly announced her 15th year anniversary and is excited about her new website and logo design. She’s looking forward to continuing to meet her client’s advertising needs.

Carol Stewart (and husband Tom), owners of Dinner Time Magic, are exploring the fondue concept, but are still happy to prepare meals ready to cook for pickup and delivery.

John (and Wendy) Daw, owners of Down East Dance, offer lyrical, ballet, tap and liturgical (faith based dance) for children and adults.

Tanya Roberts announced her new business, “Structured Chaos” – Organizing for your Home and Business. So if your office is in need of a make-over, call Tanya at 252-665-3424 or email!

Lisa Nobles represented Kincaid Family Dentistry and discussed their comprehensive, quality services. She also wants patients to know that they strive to work with them and their dental insurance companies to provide the best services at the best prices!

Claudia Houston, Independent Consultant with Creative Memories, provides traditional and creative scrapbooking options to help you artistically capture those special moments with your family and friends.

Lori Curley from Sound Fitness and Golf announced group fitness classes, Pilates, cardio, yoga, Zumba, free weights, turbo kick, golf conditioning, to name a few of their numerous services. They also provide personal training sessions.

Cindy Sutton of the Village Travel Shop is looking forward to the New Year by scheduling vacations to your dream destination. They specialize in cruises and vacation packages to meet your needs!

Cindy Davia represents Miche Down East business and is based out of Carteret County. To understand the Miche concept, she showed how the outer shell is easily removed and can be replaced with a different shell to change the look of the bag. The shell she used today was a decorative symbol for cancer awareness.
